Good preparation examples
- Photograph remains portrait and is not stretched into a square.
- Signature is wide, tightly cropped, and every stroke is visible.

Common upload errors
GOAPS reports an invalid aspect ratio
Use the photo or signature preset and do not swap width and height.
Face is too small
Crop excess background while preserving the head and shoulders.
Signature is vertically oriented
Rotate and crop it into the required wide rectangle.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the target sizes below the maximum?
The presets aim for practical readable outputs rather than inflating every file to the maximum. The final result must still remain above any stated minimum.
Can I upload a square GATE photograph?
Use the portrait proportions in the current brochure. A square image can fail aspect-ratio validation.
Not sure whether the file is ready?
Run the downloaded output through the Universal Form File Checker and compare it with the active official instructions before submission.
Check a file
